I am hoping someone on the forums can help me. I just put together a new computer consisting of the following:

Athlon XP 1700+
Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB
256 MB RAM (soon to be 512)
30 GB HD
TDK CD-RW
52X CD Drive
300W Power Supply

The problem I have is that every time I run a 3D game the system locks up. I have tried 3 different friver versions, including the new Catalyst 3.0 drivers. I have only been able to get 3D Mark 2001 to run one time. Has anyone else had this problem, or have an idea what it might be? Thanks.:)

ooooh maybe your AGP driver needs updating?

i only have a 250W PSU and no lockups. i think. none so far.
i didnt exactly follow the instructions on pluging in the card.
i plugged it to the cord that runs to my cd burner instead of the hard drive.

I believe they recommend having a 350w power supply if you want to use a 9500pro...that might be your problem.

Thanks. I might try a bigger power supply. I have the most up-to-date AGP drivers, so I don't think that is the problem.

I would make a bet that it is your PSU. Over in HotDeals forum, there was a very informative post by a guy who linked to two very good PSU's. I ended up ordering one, should be here soon.
