Radeon 9500 Pro F*&CKING up my system - I need some help.

I understand Megatomic. I have tried to set up Athlon systems with the NForce and NForce2 chipsets for customers of mine, and just for the plain fun of it. Although the AMD's are great performers, I have just noticed "more" if you will, weirdism's with AMD and not so much with intel. Just offering you my experiences and nothing more. I would be very happy though, if you were to take your video card and try it in an intel Mobo or at least a Mobo with an intel chipset just to see what happened. If you ever do, would you please report if there are any problems or not. It could, after all, just be the vid card itself.

Pentium 4 2.8 GHz currently retails for $305.00 (newegg)

Here is how your 225.00 (200.00) AMD kicks the crap out of my 305.00 (350.00) P4. This is in reality just an 80.00 dollar difference. And after you look at Anand's article on the AMD 2800+ 333 barton, you will have to choke on your words. Sorry Nick.

Sorry folks, have to defend my platform for video card compatability. Didn't mean to go off topic but someone forced my hands.

AMD is all about saving money for me. I have a 1700+ 1.5v t-bred that runs 2300MHz at 1.68v for $70. My ECS L7S7A2 cost $66. It's running 11.5 x 200 like a champ. The SiS 746FX chipset has had absolutely no issues for me, I am not so convinced the Nforce2 is completely mature yet. I got what I paid for. Just makes me wonder why people who spent alot more aren't getting more for their money. :Q

Yes I agree, those Nforce2 boards were, and still are, pretty expensive compared to other chipsets for AMD. NForce2 is definately not mature yet, you are right. I wouldn't pay for that board myself. If someone gave it to me, sure, I'd mess around with it.
Maybe they were not tested nearly long enough before they hit the market, or the marketing wouldn't allow for anymore time.
Intel's testing facilities incorporates somewhere in the millions of cumulitive hours of testing per product. Everyone has slipups though. Look at the PIII 1.13 GHZ flub.
Point is, I wonder how much a manufacturers number crunchers calculate in gains and losses as opposed to truly releasing a finished product. I.E. video card compatability with Motherboards.
