I posted a deal about the excellent (value wise) Radeon 9100 for $49 after rebate at TigerDirect. That deal is here:

But there is a better deal in my opinion, it come from the chubby purse, you can get a radeon 9100, agp version here:

I cannot find anything on the rebate for the CUSA deal which states "internet only". I would like
to pick it up in my local store but I wonder if I will get the rebate (especially considering it goes to
New Rochelle) :confused:

My 9100 from Tigerdirect is doing great. I can overclock it to 275/275. However, my system seems to get somewhat unstable after I downloaded ATI's latest driver. I just finished re-install window 98 (hope that will do the trick).

Using benchmark, it seems to do better than a regular 8500.

But it is from TigerDirect. For one thing, it is NOT a build by ATI card. For another thing, it is an OEM card in a white box. You don't get much warranty, if any.

It doesn't bother me since I like to change video card after only 2 years. That is, even if my card dies on me a year from now, I would just get a new (yet cheap and powerful) card anyway. I don't think I had ever used a warranty for computer parts.

But it might bother you.

if that doesn't work, go back to 3.4. i've heard of problems with 3.6

Did you get the PCI version or the AGP one? I got the 128MB AGP version. Made by Visiontek, retail box and lifetime warranty. $50 after $20 MIR.

thanks for the great link and feedback, i'll go with this retail 9100 64mb deal after all. i'll grab it local (the rebate itself doesn't say anything about it needing to be an internet deal like Linus20 outlined).

I have the 128M Visiontek AGP card. It came with a white box and a driver cd. That's it, no accessories, no free games, etc.

By the way, I think I will stop by CompUSA tomorrow to check out this deal. I may need the TV out version for a computer I am going to build for my living room . The TigerDirect one doesn't have TV out.

Sounds like you got a much better deal than I do.

i went to CompUSA today to pick up this card. $59.99 + tax but no rebate printed out. I asked for rebate and the only rebate they had was one that expired on 7/31/03. So i returned the card b/c i thought this was only online deal.

after coming back home and reading the full rebate again, i think that i will go back tomorrow and repurchase the card since the online rebate form doesnt says specific as to where to purchase it.

the ad does say lifetime warranty though. Even if you got an OEM, just keep a copy of the webpage. BTW, the install disc only had game demos so its not a big deal.

Is a 9200 a better card for the money, because you can get a Visiontek one for the same price as this 9100?

some notes:
that pdf is exactly the same kind that i've seen on the wall @ cusa, so there should be no problems
i got shanked on my visontek gf3ti200 rebate -- bb had to pay it, or otherwise i wouldn't have gotten it
$60 itself is pretty decent for perhaps the most powerful pci solution available -- but noticed last night while looking for 9100 that 9200 pci 64mb is $79.99 (and some sort of rebate will be most definitely in it's future)
everybody scan/xerox and send certified, should be fine
good luck! and thanks to the op for posting the deal!

The 9100 and 8500 are the same card. They are both better than the 9200, which is a tweaked 9000.

9000 < 9200 < 8500 = 9100

It sucks that ATI is playing the same model number games as NVIDIA, but I guess it's a fact of life in this market.

How do you check or know the spped of the memory on the card -- I ordered an 8500 LE (I hope) 250 but want to check it out ?? What utility can you use or waht ?

the number on Toms showed 9100 is not much better than 7500, and much worse than 8500.

ATI's numbering system is totally screwed up.

8500 is available in Retail (275/275 and hard to find) and a LE version (which has many different speeds up to 250/250). 9100 is 250/250
