what is the radeon 9000 non pro equivelent to? It can run ut2k3 on my machine maxed out at 1024*780 with no problem(50 fps). does this make it the equivelent of a geforce 4? can somebody tell me

1. exactly what geforce this card is the equivelent of

2. will this card be sufficient to run deus x iw maxed out? what about some of the other newer games(doom 3, hl 2, others) will it be good enough to run those?

please note that i only care about getting around 20 fps. so what are your thoughts.

p.s. btw does deus x 2 use pixel shaders 2.0? whats with all the talk about u needing a direct x 9 card?
 
It's not as good as a geforce4 ti, a little better than a gf4 mx440. I think it's about the level of a fx5200. It should run some newer games such as doom 3 and hl2, though not maxed out.
 
why not? is the card that slow? cant it run the hl2 and doom3 at around 20 fps?(maxed out at 800*600 i mean) It seems like it should be able to...
 
Well ok, at 800x600 I think it will be able to. I thought you meant a higher res, since most use at least 1024x728. It's hard to say though, with the game not out yet.
 
ya normally i use 1024*768, but i realize that for those games this resolution is a little unrealistic. and just to clarify, when i say maxed out i dont mean the use of anti aliasing
 
I was just looking at the doom3 preview anandtech did here. 9200 (which is a 9000 with agp 8x) gets about 19 fps at 10x7 with medium quality, and hopefully by the time the game is finished the performance should improve somewhat. Everything else in the test system for this benchmark was of course top of the line though, which could help out quite a bit.

how much better is the 9200 than the 9000?
