Given that the price of the Radeon 9000 is ~79, it's safe to say the 4200 beats it. But doesn anyone have a link to benchmarks?

ohh ya the 9000 is not even ment to compeate with a ti, its atis awnser to the gefroce mx. there are benchs to show how much difference there is between the 900pro and the 4200 here on andandtech. as for the standard 9000 no one realy seems interested in benchmarking it, at least not that i have seen. if you want an ati equivilant to the 4200 you need to look at the radeon 8500 wich can be both faster and slower than the 4200 depending on the situation.

 Don't forget the Rad9000 is about 20% slower than the Rad9000PRO although it should o/c very well, although it really is worth considering a 128MB version in any new gfx card and I believe only the Rad9000PRO comes with that option.

:D As TheSnowman says the Rad9000 cards were designed to compete with the GF4MX cards and they wipe the floor with them. For 3D the GF3 let alone the GF4TI are far better than the Rad9000PRO. In fact the Rad9000 cards are simply slightly cut down, cheaper to make Rad8500 cards and tend to be inferior to them in many ways. For me in the budget end the Rad9000 and Rad8500 cards rule supreme (unless GF3 are a whole lot cheaper). The 4200 cards are certainly better, esp so if you have a faster CPU, and that's before the o/c to 4400 or 4600 speeds. Anyway here's some benchmarks but do bear in mind they are the faster Rad9000PRO ...
