so I finally got my new R8500 working with the new ATI driver, but two weird problems came up.
1. If I connect my Svideo output to my TV, I am not able to boot up properly(I am running on windows 2000pro). I can get to the start-up screen, "Windows 2000 build on NT technology" then my screen just shows nothing. So I have to unplug my svideo connection everytime I want to boot up my computer, and it's pretty annoying.
2. When I do boot into windows 2000, my norton antivirus is automatically disabled. I can't enable it, and it worked fine with my old video card. I don't understand how the hell could a new video card affect the antivirus program. I did see an error when I first installed the video card and boot into windows, it gives me an error like "not enough memory, norton antivirus disabled" I have 512 MB of RAM and I even disabled the ATI start-up crap so I can save memory, but I still can't enable norton antivirus.
Does anyone have any suggestions to my problems?

Well I heard of that 'having to unplug TVout lead to boot' prob with a couple of GF3 cards, but never a Rad8500 (unless I'm getting ti mixed up). Are you using a true ATI Radeon (ie 'BUILT by ATI' as opposed to 'powered by ATI'), if not then you may have to make do with the older drivers from the manu's website, esp for TVout implimentation. The Win2000 NAV thing is very perplexing, these quirky things were more common with Win9x, esp with large amounts of RAM, but not Win NT core. I take it you uninstalled your existing gfx card drivers before installing the Radeon, you may find reinstalling DX8.1 the solution in any case, well why not try it, if a gfx card can stop NAV working then maybe gfx card drivers can play havoc too? In all seriousness I would check PnP and resource settings, maybe the Radeon uses certain resources or drivers which cause Win2000 probs, be sure to get the latest official drivers for all your hw, particularly your mobo BIOS and drivers.
