Radeon 8500

Just bought the Radeon 8500, I am partial to Nvidi chip boards but took a chance. Looking for some feedback from users of same board.

I just switched from a VisionTek GF3 to an ATi Radeon 8500 retail and so far I'm very pleased. 3DMark2001SE score is 1300 points higher than the GF3 on my rig, 2D is crisper and 3D visual quality is better, all my games run as fast or faster than the GF3. Glad I did it

I switched from a Vision Tek GF3 to a Retail 8500, which I returned due to lockups. (even after fdisk/format, 2 different 4 in 1s, many R8500 drivers)
Then I got a PNY GF4 Ti4400, now I am happy again.

i retired my kyro 2 prophet 4500 for a radeon 8500 and i'm very happy with it. Runs all my ed games so much faster, 3000+ pts increase in 3dmark2001SE, and although i had problems with half-life for a bit the opengl fix took care of that.

Its greatness, without the nvidia infinite loop error

I switched from a GF2 GTS to a Radeon 8500, and I havent experienced any problems with any of my games. And the 2D is much prettier

I switched my Matrox G400 MAX to a Radeon 8500 last weekend. I had a few teething issues but they all seem sorted now (thats to the help from Anandtech and Rage3d). Overall, I'm very impressed - I can now go to LAN parties and not get left out when people play Renegade/Serious Sam 2 and Medal of Honour
