Radeon 8500 Sucking for Moh?

I have a radeon 8500 on a 1.4 Ghz Asus A7v266e. However in Moh I get less than 60 fps lots of times. I have all details cranked but only at 1024x768. I have all settings correct. All other games run extremely well. Q3 runs at 125 fps constant at 1024, thats what I have it capped at. But on Omaha in MoH especially I'm dipping into the 20 fps range. It sucks. Does it also suck for you other guys out there with radeon 8500's?

I have the 6025 drivers.

Framerate problems have plauged the Radeon8500 in random games. The thing about Metal of Honor is you need to drop back down to 16 bit color and probably 800X600 to maintain a decent framerate. MOH just draws too much. It crushes the graphics card! For other games, I have *MAJOR* problems in CPU dependant applications because my setup is about as powerful as a T-bird 1200MHZ.

So basically, there is nothing I can do about it.

That is why I'm getting rid of the radeon for a gf4 ti4400 when it comes out. The card is amazing (better than a gf3) with the exception of poor drivers, and random lack of support in certain games. It is 10x better in q3 than a gf3. 125 fps smooth with max antistropic filtering on.

Why dont you go all the way and get a 4600, IMO the 4400 isent worth it, you might as well get a 4200.

Mine was sucking. I changed my AGP aperture from 64 mb to 256 and my performance just about doubled. I dont know if it is your problem tho.

So what is the deal with ATi and the drivers anyway, have they stopped trying to put out the drivers that will utilize this card? I am an ATI man myself, but have been hesitant to buy the 8500 because of the drivers.... should I cross over to g4?
