the one with the TV out 64 mb
is it a good card?
doen it have a T&L engine?
is it better than the Voodoo 4500?

thanks,
Rose

Depends on what you use for this card is.
If you want a card good for workstations, this is it.
However, it is terrible for gaming.
I think that the recent 6073 drivers by ATI give the card t&l.

It's basically a cut down ATi Radeon based on the RV100 core originally used in the Radeon VE.
Excellent DVD, 2D, and TV-Out capabilities. The latest drivers have apparently addedd the T&L capabilities of the regular Radeon core, and increased performance by a decent amount.

It's certainly faster then the V4 4500, it generally falls roughly between the GF2 MX400 or GF2 MX200, with the latest driver perhaps a bit closer to the MX400 side of things.

It's an excellent workstation card, but really only a bare bones gaming card.
If you absolutely must keep costs as low as possible... ie under $40 after shipping, or around $30 before shipping then it might be adequate for low resolution gaming, but you can do MUCH better for only an extra $10-15.

You can get an ATi Radeon LE for only slightly more, and it can be easily hacked to a full Radeon 32MB DDR. A GeForce2 GTS-V can be had for a similar price, but it'll be lacking the TV-Out capabilities.

I would second what Rand said. very nice card for dual monitors, 2D, but not a gaming card.

I kind of miss my VE now that I'm trying to shake down my 8500DV.🙂 The VE is a great card as long as you don't want to get 200fps(or 100fps).😛

if the Voodoo 4 is satisfying for games (it works ok with heroes 4, castle wolfenstein, max payn...)
it will be a good replacement?
my brother wants to play Spiderman but it needs a T&L engine...
so we thought at the same time to buy a tv out/in card...
at first i thought of the AIW Radeon 7500 but it's a little pricey...
and if i buy that radeon 7000 with the tv out, i can buy a tv in card and together they'll be cheaper than the Radeon 7500...
so, what is the best choice?

thanks alot!

i'm confused...isn't the LE anothe name for the radeon 7000?
is there any gforce with a TV out better than the radeon for about 40$?

basiclly i need a card with a T&L engine, better than the Voodoo 4500, and with a TV IN too, for about 80$, OR a same card only without
the TV In + buying another tv tuner both too for about 80$
what will be the best value?
and it needs to support W2K...

thanks very much for helpping...

The only TnL cards with tuners in the low range are the Radeon 7500 AIW or the Visiontek Xtasy Everything. Both are in the $140 range, with the 7500 being a much better deal.

Radeon 7000's are like $35 bucks at Newegg with TV out. They also have a cheapo connexant based tuner for $40.
