Radeon 64MB DDR with my G400...what shimmering effect? here is different prob

I have heard some intresting stories about trinitron and radeon owners and their complaints. So far i have no complaints about this "shimmering" effect. My only gripe is that my Desktop resoultion can only go up to 1152x864. I tried lowering the refresh rate to 70hz and i still can't get any higher! any advice?

hmmmm, that is REALLY strange... i've got a Radeon 64DDR VIVO running at 1600x1200 right now. Try reinstalling the drivers and see if that fixes it.

You might want to try using this radeon tweaker program. I was having a problem with not being able to select certain refresh rates, but by setting them from within the program it fixed my problem. So maybe if you install the tweaker, and set refresh rates for all the resolutions, reboot, and then windows might then allow you to select different resolutions. Who knows, you might get lucky and it will work .

thanks guys...i finally figured it out...i went the adapter properties and selected a refresh of"standard adapter" when i did that i let me hit all kinds of resolutions. I used sisoft sandra to see what refresh hz i was running at and all it said was "standard adapter" i'm gonna try to use that radeon tweaker program and see what happens
