Radeon 5870 Crossfire PSU requirement?

Alright, long story short - My GTX 295 died, and the company (not being able to replace the card) made me a good deal on 2 x Radeon 5870 cards instead.

I've used a Corsair TX 750W PSU for the GTX 295, but wondering if it's enough to power the two 5870 cards, too.

I just have a single 3TB HD and a DVD drive in the machine.

Any advice would be useful, thanks.

yup it should be plenty. I have crossfired 5870's, oce'd q6600 @3.6, 1tb drive and 8 gig's of ram with a pc power and cooling 750. Plenty of power to spare..... My rig pulls 544 watts at load.

Your PSU will be more then enough to power everything.

Your rig will be fine with your 2x 5870 your PSU is fine, it will still have room to breath.. like 300watt at least will be free. So go for it,, ur PSU is good and Corshair is good company.. good luck with that. I have no idea how crossfire rig goes never had one, or SLI, but I can tell you me and the others are here to help,, I think he would survive with a 600watt PSU with a couple rails on 12, and good ampage..

from amd website:

"500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)"

I also have a 750w and everything is going well about one and a half months in
