I have an Radeon 5450 card installed on my hptc. would changing the card to MSI N8400GS-MD512H/TC help the pc in anyway?

I am looking for a better picture quality in WMC.

The picture quality of the 5450 should be perfect. If its not, you have other issues. Can you describe the bad picture quality?

I am using HDHomeRun Prime and when I watch live tv on the WMC the colors are washed out and the picture is not clear when compared to the verizon HD box.

I am trying to find an way to increase the picture quality in WMC.

The card is probably fine. Are you connecting to the TV via HDMI? The 5450 should not have significantly different picture quality than other cards. Changing to another AMD card will not be helpful. If you must change the card, I'd try an Nvidia card instead (you've already tried AMD...).

You should spend some time trying to tweak the picture settings. Try something like this: https://www.google.com/search?aq=f&ix=seb&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=htpc+display+calibration

Yes I am using HDMI to connect to the TV. the cable is verizon with 35/35 internet speed. the htpc is connected with wired internet. and the tv is sharp lcd 47".

As you said I want to try a different card other than AMD as I have one already..thats the reason I was leaning towards the geforce.

is this a better card than radeon 5450? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&SID=u00000687

if anything, 8400gs would have worse picture quality. Anyways, try tweaking some stuff in catalyst control center (or whatever it's called)

The GT430 is a very good HTPC card. I'd still suggest tweaking your display settings first. After tweaks, the GT430 and the 5450 will be extremely similar.
