UT runs better with radeon when you run it in d3d mode. with OGL i am not so certain but both run remarkably well. for your 2d games radeon will provide you with better image quality unless you are up for the challange of doing the mod (bypassying crappy RF resistors on GF2). when it comes to DVD playback, radeon wins hands down.

I definitely vote for the Radeon. Geforce has some advantages in framerates and such, but you can't beat the Radeon for overall well rounded performance. Yeah, ATI is still working out driver bugs, but that will smooth out with time. I went with the Radeon because I rarely play games-2D is important for me, and this is where the radeon leaves Nvidia behind. IMHO, of course.

I made my decision - put in the Radeon last night. The desktop was amazingly sharper than before (ATI Rage2C)-I was really surprised. Unfortunately, I screwed something up in the install (I think I got over ambitious deleting old video references from the registry) and couldn't install the Radeon drivers properly.

I know intend to wipe everything out and start all over this weekend (after doing the backup I should have done before starting this)-probably with a clean install of W2k.

I'm in the same situation as PsyNinja, I have to choose between a Radeon 32DDR and a Elsa Gladiac 32DDR. What are the performance differences between them with the newer drivers? (I've read Anandtech's Radeon 32SDRAM review which showed the Radeon 32ddr like 20% behind the GTS)

I don't know, but I just can't get myself to buy a Radeon 32ddr because it seems to me that is a budget card. It doesn't have as much memory as its big brother and its clocked slower. A lot like my current V3 2k.

I have ZERO preference between the Radeon and GTS! I was a Intel zealot for years, then earlier this year I bought a KT7 Raid with a Duron. I am a slave to who ever is best! :D

Can you guys send some reviews my way? I've seen the Anandtech.com, Sharky, & Riva3d reviews.

btw: I don't just play one type of game, I play them all (Red Alert 2, Giants, No One Lives Forever, American McGee's Alice, etc.) and I never play DVD on my pc.

Here is a link to about 30 reviews. I think the one
you will find most useful is Sharky's Budget Video card review.
I modified his table and ranking of cards
by weighting the importance of 2D quality.
