is there any way to make win2k use a higher resolution than 1024x768? also, if it can, is it safe for the lcd?

I run 1600x1200 on my laptop, but my LCD was designed for that resolution.

It all depends on the driver.

The driver tells the OS what resolutions it will support.

And the driver is usually, in turn, dictated by the physical resolution of the screen.

If the LCD only has 1024x768 physical pixels, it makes no sense for the driver to support a higher resolution.
