Nordstrom is basically known as a snobbish store and this ad seems like it is hinting at racism here.

I don't get it... white people wear suites and colored people wear jeans and t-shirts? Is that what you get from it?

The white guy is wearing traditional clothing associated with the upper class and the black guy is wearing hipster like clothing that makes him look silly or odd in some ways. The white guy is laughing while his thumb is pointing at the black guy. The store is also Nordstrom. Individually they might only be subtle racism but together they seem to add up as insulting and prejudiced.

There's enough real racism in this country without inventing it.

I think the ad has exposed your racism but in and of itself is fine.

Well, the darker skinned model is standing with arms crossed, legs apart, staring at the snappily dressed lighter-skinned hipster with apparent disdain. What do you say to that, eh?

That's how everyone looks at hipsters.

I hope Rev Jackson is taking notes.

This is how it is done.

His facial expression is also possibly indicative as a common reaction to social exclusion or conflict.

Looks like the white guy is high and hitchhiking to me.

His twin in the background is also laughing. Strange.

No, his thumb extended indicates his unhindered right to vote, and his "twin" shows how Western society places twice as much value in the white man as it does the black.

Maybe those wearing the suits are the caliber of men who should be wearing them? Oh, what else can we think of here....... last time I checked black men were not allowed in Nordstrom? Last time I was in there a very nice man waited on me and sold me several pairs of shoes, a few ties, and a couple sport coats. He was black, just in case anyone is interested. ;)
