Racism - What's your stance on this?

Here's a question I was thinking to myself while watching American History X earlier this evening.

Now, say if white supremacist groups expressed their views peacefully instead of promoting a message of hate, would you still disagree with them? I mean, there are many different groups that are pro black, pro Filipino, pro Chinese, pro whatever, but they aren't looked down upon - rather looked high upon by their respective races. Don't forget the Arabs...

For example, we have holidays for African Americans, Hispanics, but no holiday for being White.

Now, another question regarding tattoos. If we were to walk down the street and see someone with "White Power" tattoo'd on their chest it would be socially unacceptable, but what if a black person had "Black Power" on his chest, would the view be the same? If so, how could that be?

Maybe ignorance on my part for asking these questions but since this country is about equality, shouldn't it be okay for a white person to be happy about being white since other races have holidays and organizations promoting their race and it being acceptable?

Please keep this clean.

**Disclaimer - I'm half White half Filipino**

I take my view of this from Jerry Springer, who at the end of one of his shows said it was foolish the be proud of your race because you had no part in choosing or causing it.

You need to educate yourself on what it means to be a "supremacist".

The "white power" and "black power" ideals are not just to celebrate those races, but to put them above all other races as the best or only true race. The ideals of "white power" and "black power" are very popular in prisons.

Groups can celebrate their race or heritage without putting down other groups. "White power" and "black power" do not fall into that category.

IMO, the holidays for certain races or heritages are modern inventions and the result of political correctness gone wild.

Where is the Arab power? This thread is racist.

Fixed :D

What was 'fixed' ? I don't see any changes.

It's in the topic summary. This Arab now feels empowered :p

Ah ok, I should have looked there... I was looking for some sort of correction in the post itself :p

 for you my friend

Special Arab beer that is. Alcohol content is ~negative 1 billion.

:p

Anyways, I think it's okay for anyone to express admiration and love for their race, provided that they aren't degrading any other race in the process. Yeah sure, you love your race and you think it is the best; if you can do that, but still accept the fact that there are OTHER races out there who will believe the same thing, then all should be good.

"To each his own" is a really great phrase IMO. "Live and let live" is another one. I see them signifying the belief that hey, it's ok if we don't necessarily agree on this and that, but as long as we treat each other with respect, we can co-exist.

I think the biggest problem is pride. That damn sin just drives some people to the fallacy that they are the promised ones, or that their race deserves the best sh!t in the world.

The only difference in everyone is their color of skin. I'm sure there are plenty of whites, blacks, hispanics, asians, etc. out there that think the same way I do, so it would be ignorant to assume that I am better than them because I'm arab and they aren't.

There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

..liberal race baters and the megaphone maniacs have made a career out of maintaining and supporting victim status. It gives them a following of wana be victims..and from that they glean an income of non profit revenue.

Mixed race power! The Mixed shall inherit the earth!
Pure races, or "The Genetically Handicapped" as we superior humans call them, are a dying breed.

I prefer my power to be colorless, and made of electrons flowing through wires attached to the side of my house.
