Racing seats and momo steering wheel are in

halik

Lifer
Finally fabbed up some brackets for the porsche and got one of the racing seats in, along with a fancy new MOMO steering wheel

The pics are pretty poor as the sun was shining in my face, I'll get the other seat in tomorrow and take better pics. The seats are good 20-40lbs lighter than OEM.

EDIT:

Got the second seat in, here are the pics:

Love the steering wheel. I've had the same one for a couple years. Diameter and grip thickness fits my preferences pretty well.

full pic of the Porsche?

it's in pieces

should end up looking something like this
Except it's gonna be satin black and the rims will be bronze in the middle

got a long way to go... what is your next step??

you should've fixed up the body first before u put in some expensive seats and steering wheel

Cant really do much a bout the body until spring (I'm in michigan) and I got a spectacular deal on the seats anyway ($180ish shipped).

Next steps are to finish the BBS rims and get them mounted, sand and polish the mirrors and patch up the bumper.

How is it mechanically? Is it a turbo? I remember your thread when you bought it but can't remember if it is a Turbo or not.

Regular 86 NA,
I rebuilt the engine over the summer and it runs great (I start it couple times every month). I've got a whole bunch of suspension bought up/on the way (coil overs with new struts, strut brace, sway bars, torsion bar mounts etc. ), so once i I put that on it should be real fun to drive.

I assume the chassis is sound? No rust?

Not rot, there's one spot that needs to be fixed from previous welding (4x8mm hole that was tacked for too long), nothing on the rockers or anywhere else.

That being said, I'll be sure to repaint the wheelwells with some POR15 or something just to seal it all up.

Cool looking seats. Are they comfortable?

Yeah good lumbar and very supportive bolsters, if you like sports car seats (my fave of all time are from the 300ZXs I've had) you'd love them.

BUMP NEW PICS!!!

Also I've decided against the flat black color, gonna do a satin version of the original garnet red (copper/maroon mix)

Looking good. I really like the steering wheel. How much you think this project is going to cost you total?

Under 3G hopefully,
I'm about 15-1800 bucks in right now. Paint should be under 250 with all the supplies (2 qts at ~60 each).

I've been picking up random suspension bits and pieces here and there, mew tires w/mounting and the welding i need to have done should put it in the neighborhood of 3K.
