"Magnuson supercharged racing engine that has over 560 HP and torque. After market racing axle that allows power to come from the back to increase torque to over 600"
:whiste:
Maybe the axles have electric motors built in?

hybrid, yo!

I couldn't restrain myself...

Hey, just so you know - that "rare six speed" was in every first-gen CTS-V ever produced.

response:
No shit dumb ass! They stopped making the 6-speed stick with the newer models.

Get a life

If by "newer model" you mean 3rd generation, you are correct.

I'm sure someone of your vast knowledge already knows that the first gen's T-56 was replaced with a Tremec TR-6060 six speed manual for the second generation, but automatic was also an option.

Best of luck with your racing axles, bro.

I'm a bad person. :awe:

why buy a 2005 for 50k when you can get an equally powerful 2009 for 20k less?

this selling is obviously an idiot from pricing alone. mods rarely increase the value of a car, and certainly not by a factor of 2.5

Only thing I can figure is that he's seen the phrase "axle back" and not known that means exhaust from the axle, back.

Mods never increase a car's value. I love when someone is trying to sell an older beater with 24 inch wheels on it for thousands because the wheels. Or a $200 CAI kit.

In some cases they do, but not remotely close to the cost of what was done. Example, you might be able to find a stock MR2 for $4000 and a well built one for $12k, but that $12k car likely cost $25k+ to make.

So very true. One rarely, if ever, recoups the cost of building up a car like this Caddy or the MR2 you referenced. I wonder how long the seller in the ad will wait before drastically lowering his price......

Can someone, anyone, decipher what that sentence means?

I understand what you mean. I'm picturing professionally built cars when you describe those cars, though. Sooo many cragislist ads are a far cry, though. Lots of mainstream vehicles with a lot of bolt-ons and bling that make the car unsellable even though the owner spent a lot of money doing it.

"Custom painted dash, custom stereo!"

Translation:

"Fisher Price colors everywhere and electrical tape and wire splicers and a 1500w 15" subwoofer with stock speakers"

My guess: someone that had money, wanted a fast car, and couldn't be bothered to do any wrenching / learning on their own, so they paid shops or friends to do the work. Someone probably upgraded the diff, axles, and/or something else back there, and when the owner asked about what they did, the only vaguely grasped the concept. Maybe they've only owned FWD cars all their life, and were surprised to hear that the power actually goes to the back wheels (maybe they thought the aftermarket axle / components changed it to RWD?). Then when the installer said the diff should be good up to 600 ft-lbs (just guessing; I have no idea what the CTS-V stock axle is good for), they took it as a catch-phrase and ran with it.

...or they're just an idiot. Quite likely too.
