Racing at stoplights?

Maybe its just me, but I hate when people who drive the $hittiest cars ever pull up next to me or my friends at a light and rev their engines.

Example:

I was riding w/ my friend in his '03 Accord EX V6 6-speed manual (240HP). First off, we're in the left turn-only lane. In the lane to the right of us, an extremely dirty-looking guy pulls up next to us in an old Corsica, stares over at us, and revs his engine. Now, in case you don't know much about the Corsica, my old roommate in college had one. It was a POS. But... my roommate's Corsica was in much better shape than this guy's. Needless to say, we could have smoked him off the line... but even as I motioned that we were obviously turning left and he was going straight, he continued to stare, nod & rev his engine.

I did that to a cop once.
A cop's done that to me once...

I was at a light where it came down from four lanes to two. I revved my engine while looking at him. I think he was a little surprised. At the green, he took off like a bat out of hell and I drove like my great-grandma.

I was the guy driving the Accord that the OP is talking about. We just laughed it off. I like it when dumbasses in riced out cars pull up next to me when I'm on my MOTORCYCLE and rev their engine. Seriously, I could be a total ass and rev my bike engine on everyone at a light, there's not much to challenge that, and I don't do it. I'm not some asshat punk. I have toys because I worked hard to get them, don't expect me to race anywhere other than on a track.

No one bothered to rev their engine at my 92' corolla. Only once these two black rapper dudes in their small riced purple civic and two 15" subwoofers pounding in the back tried to race me. Needless to say, I dropped the clutch at 4000RPM on my corolla and smoked them. 😀

You'll think differently when your sitting in a Z06 and a Viper pulls up next to you.....

I hate it when people do that. So I go 10x as fast, come back dead head-on at 200+MPH and explode into a huge fireball in their faces.

Yeah, that's usually effective. I saw it happen once and I was suprised to see Charlie Sheen get out of the car.

Awesome. Awesome to the max.

I get it every once and a while, I don't participate. It is too unsafe, and I don't want to risk an accident or getting my licenses revoked or whatever. Regardless the Miata isn't a drag car.

Throw me on an autocross track, and we're good to go 🙂.

You'll change your mind when you get a supercharger. hahaha....

Mine, a cop just looked over at me and made small talk like "nice car, v6? DOHC? [etc.]" then he revved and gave me the nod and we both laughed about it...

Good times

Now oddly enough, I get revved on a lot more often when I'm driving my slow-as-molasses 93, non-vtec Prelude than when I'm driving my S2000.

Go figure 😕
