Racing a BMW Z4 against a turbo Sky

You sure about that? I would be very surprised if an 04 GT was faster than a sky redline turbo. Those mustangs were over 6 seconds 0-60 and you're doing good to hit 14's in the 1/4. On top of that, you're basically dead if you have to go around a corner.

Personally I'd rather have the sky.

If you're just talking redlight to redlight then sure you'll beat the non-turbo'd Sky but the redline models are way faster than the 04 GT, especially if it came with the factory tune.

Add some twisties to the race and your car has no chance.

Srsly? That's lame! I had a bone stock 1986 Mustang GT with a published 200bhp and 0-60 of 6.6s.

Let's say I happened to stumble upon a good sky/solstice turbo

what are common weak points about it? I only knew of the dealers putting ECU tunes on them for customers to get to 300hp. What would happen if you did the whole bolt on route with tune?
