Race Driver: Grid with an Xbox controller?

I found an old Xbox (original) controller, and spliced its wires into a USB cord. I downloaded this Xbox controller driver:

Windows recognizes the gamepad. It shows all buttons and all three multi-axis pads work just fine in the windows calibrator. However, I can't get it to work in GRID. Is there a special thing I have to click on to get it to go?

I have original xbox controller. It works just fine with GRID or any game for that matter. I don't know what you are doing but you should configure your controller from the setting menu of GRID. I'm using vista x86 as well if that matters.

I can't figure out how to select the controller instead of the keyboard. 🙁

Don't they have goddamn "xbox 360" controllers built from factory to work on PC's?

You should be able to change it in the top menu. Hell, all the icons changed to XBox 360 controller icons for me.
