R6Vegas 1.05 Patch Issues

Greetings-



Well I tried to patch R6 Vegas so I could give it another go after not liking it the first time around. So I check online and ubi lists a patch available that fixes widescreen-yay.


So I download the 1.05 patch and avg kills it because of Trojans embedded. So I try to download from 3 other places and it comes up as a Trojan.



Anyone else have this problem or see a false positive on a game patch? Now if the damn patch installs a root kit and thats what avg is seeing I am gonna toss this game into the garbage.


btw avg is patched to recent defs.

Downloaded from 3 different sources now including ubi and fileplanet and I get the same trojan message. I give up, gonna go buy bioshock and forget this game, its been nothing but crap since I installed it.

AVG is worthless and famous for giving false info. Get NOD32. NOD32 isn't free but IMO it's the best AV out there. It's super lightweight too and doesn't hog resources.

Don't know if the trojan really exists, but I think it might have been jumping the gun a bit to move this thread to security. If there really is a trojan in a game patch would a gamer go to the security forum to find that out?

This topic straddles the fence but I think it tips more to the PC gaming side.
