He seems too young to die.

Singer George Michael has died aged 53, his publicist has said.

The star, who launched his career with Wham in the 1980s and later continued his success as a solo performer, is said to have "passed away peacefully at home".

Thames Valley Police said South Central Ambulance Service attended a property in Goring in Oxfordshire at 13:42 GMT.

Police say there were no suspicious circumstances.

Michael, who was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou in north London, sold more than 100m albums throughout a career spanning almost four decades.

In a statement, the star's publicist said: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.

"The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage."

Example of songs of his, I have liked for a very long time:
George Michael - Careless Whisper

"Wham! - Last Christmas" - The sad coincidence in that title, now!

Always thought it was sad that he felt the need to hide who he was. Really had a great voice. RIP

He had some 80s music that was... nostalgic for me. I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but I'm glad he did what he did. RIP

Weird. I was just watching a snip from Motown Returns to the Apollo last week. George Michael came on stage for the finale. I have no idea why. I guess it must have been made when Wham was at the top of the charts. Anyway, his music was good. RIP.

I'm not a fan, but I did like some of his hits: Careless Whisper, Freedom, Father Figure, Faith. The guy could sing. RIP.

I really always disliked him...BUT WHAT THE EFF?
He was gay, had a partner die recently from AIDS, had sex with random partners in public toilets and had several near fatal bouts of "pneumonia".

I can't imagine what sort of non suspicious cause might have been responsible for his death
