The franchise is pretty much dead, EA killed it, i cant be bothered ranting about why and how or where it went pear shaped because it dosent matter anymore. All the fansites are pretty much dead or dying. Yeah i know theres a new game coming but come on... after the previous 4 games its not gonna be any good.

I remember having so much fun back with red alert on windows 98 :D Collecting ore! Fighting ants! Hell the campaign was awesome too, bitch nadia with her tea gets owned by kane in the end  I could never get online to work but i remember hooking two playstations together with two TVs and doing multiplayer with friends that way... ah good times.

Online with red alert 2 was great fun, was on my pentium II 333, friend had a pentium 200 i think, he took forever to load every single game and would always blame his ISP, the weather, his mom anything apart from his comp sucking heh. Good memories of 2v2's on paris revisited and invasion confirmed.

Anyone else have fond memories of C&C? It got me started on RTS games, ill never forget that.

I was always more of a craft fan, but I can understand your pain from the numerous other series EA buried. Some of which they're digging back up pissing on and reburying upside down.

C&C 3 wasn't all bad. 4 looked absolutely terrible. Didn't even bother to try it.

I loved Red Alert. My friend and I would play it every night then the next day at work talk about the matches we had. I loved my mammoth tanks <3

Meh, i would describe C&C 3 as dull.

All the things they could've done with the story and game world but didn't.

Yeah, dungeon keeper 3 :( Simcity 5 :( Populous :( Theme park :(

If you like building things EA dosent like you it seems.

Self heal + AA + dual 120mm guns FTW! Mammoths were awesome, i had a soft spot for tesla tanks when i was a newb at c&c but they are actually pretty weak.

I loved RA2, RA3 and C&C Generals. I tried C&C3 for a bit but never could get into it; same with C&C4.

Loved Dune 2... got C&C Gold as soon as I moved up to the PC (well, quite soon).

Loved Red Alert. Everyone played a Soviet faction and always used to LAN it. So much fun. Campaign rocked.

Tiberian Sun was where it all started to fall apart. Gameplay wasn't as good but the story and quirkiness of things kept me into the SP.

Red Alert 2 <3 Probably the best of the series. Fun times! Missions were so fun too. Yuri's Revenge was a little messed up but still pretty good.

Generals... not my cup of tea.

C&C3... abomination

C&C4... Trailer looked like C&C had gone back to awesomeness. It took me a couple of screenshots to change that opinion.

The original C&C was the only one in the series I ever got hooked on. It was so full of bugs and exploits though. You could make infinite numbers of infantry units for free by selling a guard tower to get the men out, and then cancelling before it was finished.

Dune 2000 was beast.
Yes, and it was the only C&C type of game I liked. Only one I played as well to be honest. I wish EA would pull a Microsoft Halo thing and redo that game with enhanced graphics. I even read the Dune book 3 times I loved it so much. Lord Emperor of Dune was good as well.

The books were epic. I've read them all multiple times. I've also read the ones his son has written after he passed away. While not as good as his, they are still decent.

The movie was also great!

Yep, I have to agree

C&C for DOS = great
C&C Gold = great
C&C Red Alert + expansions = good/great games

After red Alert, things seem to fall apart with the franchise.

I have not bought a C&C game in almost a decade. The last one I bought was Generals, and after that I have not bought another one.

The original C&C for DOS was one of the first games I played over a modem. Lot of fun.

Yup, I remember the good days of playing C&C and Red Alert. Pill Boxes, Dogs, Tesla Coils.....damn good times.

Me and my dad would always play together through LAN and woop up on the computer AI. He would build the air support and I would build ground, I miss those days.

I was always terrible at RTS games, but C&C Renegade is one of my favorite games of all time. That game got no credit but it was fun as hell

Good news is C&C and RA is freeware now. Bought C&C4 just to wrap up the story arc and it wasn't even worth it for that.

In my opinion the best C&C games were C&C, Red Alert and Generals (for other reasons). Ironically, the series went to crap after EA took over. Odd how that works.
