Qwest Choice Long Distance Plan

I'd say the going rate for long distance is about 3.5 to 3.9 cents per minute.

I wonder why Quest would cap it at $20 ??

Long distance comparison

Note: Link contains referral ID, but there's nothing I can do about that. I in no way intend to abuse this forum.

it means you won't pay more than $20 i.e. unlimited long distance after you spend $20

redly, thanks for the clarification. That is a pretty good deal if everything over $20 is free. If you make over 7 hours of long distance per month....

thanks, Zorro, but stripping the referral id just forces the web page to generate another referral id.

Am i missing something? I don't see a button to edit my original post.

one small note about the quest plan,

"Available only to Qwest local service customers for residential use. Not available in MT. Certain use restrictions apply except in CO. "

The deal is only available if you have Qwest local service too? That seems to cool off the deal quite a bit.

OneSuite
2.5¢/min domestic (using *local* access number)
2.9¢/min w/800 access number

At 2.5¢/min, you'd need to use more than 13.3 hours long distance / month.

Use more than 13.3 hours/month?, then this $20 max. deal ain't bad.
Especially if you're WAY over 13.3 hours/month.

Otherwise, 5¢/minute sucks!

13.3 hours = 27 minutes *every* day, for 30 days

I wouldn't trust Qwest any farther than I could throw a brick at them, anyway. A few years ago I signed up with them for 9 cents a minute with a plan that the rep assured me would drop a half cent a month for 11 months so that in the end I would end up paying 4.5 cents a minute. About a year later I noticed that my bills were still 7 cents a minute, so I called up. I was told that the plan called for the rate to drop a half cent every 3 months now. A little later I noticed a tiny line at the bottom of the bill notifying me that the rate was rising to 7.5 cents a minute. That's when I jettisoned the buggers.

Is OneSuite OK to use?
I was looking for something I could use sporatically, without having to pay a minimum usage fee or monthly fee.

I like AT&T's unlimited local & long distance plan (with caller ID, 3-way calling, call waiting, etc) for $43.95/month.

Qwest SUCKS, big time.

After countless errors, extra charges, hassles and outright lies, I'd had enough. I deep-sixed Qwest both at home and at the office, and I'm much happier now. Buh-bye, Qwest! 🙂

You do have to be a Qwest local customer. Last I checked, you also have to upgrade your local service to a certain plan, at least according to the CSR I spoke with, to be eligible for this. Perhaps that has changed.
