My stepson has the following mobo:
http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/890FX Deluxe4/?cat=Specifications
and an AMD Phenom II x6 1055t cpu.
One of his ram sticks died and I'm looking to replace them with 8gb (he had 2*2gb for a total of 4 gbs previously). Looking at the qvl for this mobo, there aren't alot of options for 2*4gb sticks, and the qvl is pretty old (I'm assuming based on the hardware). How important is it to follow the qvl or can I just order whatever RAM and keep my fingers crossed? TIA.
