quoting someone

If you hit the button to quote someone, but they've edited their post before you hit quote... the quote comes up with their new post, not the post you're quoting.

are you sure? it never used to be like that. in fact, today i quoted someone, hit submit and they had changed their post, but the quote remained as it was.

i've noticed it a few times recently 🙁

you quote somebody laughing at their stupid post, and then you're setting yourself up for some pwnage, because they've already edited the post to say something COMPLETELY different 😛

No, he's saying if they had changed their post BEFORE you hit the quote button (but after the page loaded). So what you see on the page is not the same as what shows up in the reply box.

Why wouldn't it?

To a person who is not familiar with web programming, it would seem very odd.

It makes sense from a web programming point of view...
I just didn't expect it.

Yep, becuase in the database it is referring to an id tag, not the content....thus content can change and all references to its id tag will reflect the current content.
