I am guessing that person was talking about product placement in movies. I watched an Indian movie (Bollywood), and it was full of product placement. Every single one was just so obvious!

The quote's a little out of context, but I recall the /. article you're referring to. Product placement is getting so blatant nowadays, it's not even funny. Pretty soon, everything shown on any TV show will have a logo plastered on it, it seems like.
