Quiznos Torpedoes

The torpedo is terrible. I would have been mad if I had ordered one without the buy 1 get 1 free coupon. You get so much more with the $5 sandwich.

I'd rather get a $5 Subway footlong, even if it's not great in the taste department.

I envy anyone who has a real "Mom & Pop" (preferably Italian) sub shop near where they live. Those I've visited in NYC are amazing (also best pizza in the world). Bot Subway and Quizno's just can't compare ...

Agreed 100%. This is yet another thread discussing the relative merits of franchise sandwiches. McDonalds is to hamburgers as Subway/Quiznos/etc are to subs.

You order your steak well done from Denny's.

No, we don't have a denny's here, but if i did go to one and ordered a steak, it would be medium because it doesn't cost any more to grill a steak less.

Man, your local Quiznos must suck. When I get a Torpedo at my local store, they fill those suckers! They also hand out coupons for free chips and drinks, so you get the whole meal for about $4.50.

aren't the torpedos like 300 calories?

no wonder there was hardly any food on there. i would need like 5 of those to get full.

I agree. Subway has always been the better sub choice. I don't really get why people love Quiznos so much. To me they are overpriced and are generally lacking on taste/subsistence. They are kinda like Starbucks, all brand name and fluff but a generally shitty product.

and the best sub I've ever had was from a Dibella's in Rochester, NY.

And a good contender to Dibella's is Wegman's. God their subs rock! That's about the only thing I miss about NY.

the quiznos around here suck. $8 for a tiny sandwich with very little meat. Good thing we got subways, and 3 other sub sandwich shops (can't think of the names). Subway is the cheaper one and we know how the sandwich is going to be every time we buy them.

of the other two one has these huge sandwiches ($8-12) but they are great and i can never eat a full one. but sometimes the quality is not that great.

the other one is a high end sandwich shop ($6-9) but the quality is great and the sandwiches are always really good. just the portions are kinda small.

oh think we have another one but i havent been there yet .

Of the locations I've tried in NYC, Subway gives much less meat than Quiznos and Subway doesn't taste as good.

Jimmy John's is pretty good. They don't skimp on the bacon in their BLT (six strips!). Though they do have the tendency to put mayo on everything.

Whenever I go to Quiznos, they load those subs up so crazy that I can't even close them halfway, thats the main reason I go there instead of subway!

This has not been my experience. It seems every time I get Quiznos the portions are so ridiculously small as to be hilarious. Quiznos doesn't load anything up in my area - none of them. Subway is a much better deal - and they don't put nearly enough on to be honest, but far better than the scraps you get for $10 at quiznos. I find local sub shops superior to them both.

I just had Quiznos for lunch, and have their subs occasionally. I haven't really had Subway for a couple years now, and I don't miss it. Quiznos is absolutely better, though they are more expensive. (Not counting the torpedo, which I just saw someone order today. I agree that it's pretty ridiculous.) I'm willing to pay the extra, you know, one frakking dollar in order to get a better sandwich.

Yeah, there are plenty of better sub places in the world than either. But none of them are near my office, so are they not lunch options.

subway is retarded. they over stuff the sandwich and it comes pouring out or breaks the bread. quality > quantity.
