Little background... I always go to subway, most of the time I get Tuna any how

For my first time I go to Quiznos order the new Torpedo to try it out.

Well when the guy took the bread out I lol'ed and I am like you kidding me right? So any how I went and got the Tuna like I do at subway to compare. The guy finished preparing and puts it in the little toast machine, then the guy on the other side puts one scoop of tuna (were as subway I get 3-4 scoops) and then goes and spreads out that one scoop of tuna on that thin/long ass bread which again made me lol again as it looks like brain surgery just to spread it out of the entire length of the bread.. Got some lettuce on it, put some Wine Vinaigrette topping.

I took a bite, instantly wtf?! were is the tuna(was not surprised), the flavor was good not going to lie, but I rather pay 1 buck more to be full then not.

/end

That's not tuna you are eating at Subway.
And that green paste is not guacamole either, because it doesn't have avocado in it.

I too was unimpressed with the "Torpedo" from Quiznos. It was mostly bread with little in between. I would have been better off sticking with a less expensive small sub.

I would not order it again.

I go to Quizno's very rarely, but anytime I do, I notice they are very, very militant about their portions. I'm surprised they didn't weigh that scoop of tuna to make sure you weren't getting more than you paid for.

WHAT?

Whenever I go to Quiznos, they load those subs up so crazy that I can't even close them halfway, thats the main reason I go there instead of subway!

Quiznos FTW!

Subway is the superior choice by considerable margin in my view. There was a Quiznos in the basement of my college dorm and instead of going there I would walk half a mile to Subway baring any inclement weather.

I LOL @ people who go to subway or quiznos for "sandwich." They both sell bread w/ fillers. If I wanna eat franchise subs, I go to Togo's. Their tuscan chicken sub is delicious! It's so big and meaty. But nothing beats the mom & pop subway shop near my work place. Now, that's some good subs.

Figured I'd give it a try, so I ordered the Italian Torpedo and one of their Italian "Sammies".. I hate it when people slaughter actual English words and make me stand there and actually ORDER them based on that shit. It's hard to keep a straight face asking for a "Sammie".

The torpedo wasn't bad. A bit bland, but as others mentioned hilarious to see because it's about as thick around as a breadstick. The "Sammie" was horrible, though - because whatever green paste they surrounded it with tasted like rotten spinach. =/

Fazoli's have easily some of the best subs I have ever ate.

Their pickled veggies are awesome on it.

I'd rather pay $5.00 for a footlong filling and decent tasting sandwich at subway then $8.xx for a footlong sub at a mom and pops store that might taste a little better but look the same coming out as my subway sandwich.

Since when is it not real tuna?

I worked at Subway during summers about 15 years ago. We used the industrial size cans of Chicken of the Sea tuna. Pop it open, poor out the water, grab a handful of tuna (I hope you washed your hands) and squeeze out the water, keep doing that until it is done. Then grab an industrial size jar of mayo and poor half of it in there (I forget the actual amount). good eats... I never ate the tuna unless I made it myself.

I agree. Subway has always been the better sub choice. I don't really get why people love Quiznos so much. To me they are overpriced and are generally lacking on taste/subsistence. They are kinda like Starbucks, all brand name and fluff but a generally shitty product.

and the best sub I've ever had was from a Dibella's in Rochester, NY.

Wow, I'm the complete opposite. The Subways I've been to don't even compare in flavor and texture to Quiznos.

Edit: Grammar.

eh, well to each their own. There really is no point in arguing over taste. Maybe I just don't order the right thing when I'm at Quiznos

I envy anyone who has a real "Mom & Pop" (preferably Italian) sub shop near where they live. Those I've visited in NYC are amazing (also best pizza in the world). Bot Subway and Quizno's just can't compare ...

Quizno's "discount" offerings are begrudging at best. If you don't mind spending $8 for one of their premium subs, most of them are pretty good (IMO), otherwise you're better off somewhere else.

Agreed. I have yet to find a place that makes a better sub.

I tried the beef, bacon, chedder torpedo today, I thought it was pretty decent for 4 bucks. of course at quiznos, I always load up on peppercini too, so that adds to the value.
