You should bring this up with the corporate Quiznos. This is definately not cool, and you should get some compensation from this.

but yeah, a lot of Quizno's aren't takin um....

but if your manager used it, and he didn't let you, then you shoulda argued until the end of time

compensation? for what??

I agree that he should complain to corporate if you feel it was a race issue (see above post), but compensation is ridiculous. I mean, if you are trying to get a hot deal and a CSR doesn?t give it to you, do you call corporate and demand compensation? No. You hang up and try again.

If they deem it fit to give you something, then that is fine. But don?t expect anything. Most franchise Quiznos can do what they want with coupons, corporate doesn?t have a say in it at all.

Maybe he just got fed up with all the people using it, i mean they are losing money on the deal, and just decided to stop giving it out.

Your coworker might of gotten someone else to ring him or her up.
This happened all the time for the target/coke deal last summer. I just hoped i got someone nice that accepted the coupon.

Just try at another one or see if any of your white friends can get it on the manager, then u have a case.

Above all, there should be no Desi hating, if you hate that Desi treat other desis with disrespect because of lower caste, you shouldn't be continuing it by more desi hating.

EDIT: Oh and most indians are "frugal" because our parents were poor as children, I know my parents were.
 
Blacks seem to have a reverse caste system. When ever I go into a place dressed nice, I get looked down at. But if I come in looking ghetto, I get people treating my like I've known them for years. It comes with the territory. Oh and most black people I know hate every one. White, Asian, Native American, Indian, Black, rich or poor.
 
Would they lose money in the deal? I always thought that if Quizno's decides to do a promotion, all the individual franchise had to do was mail in these coupons to get compensation back from the main HQ. Hence, everyone is happy?

I heard the deal was for people that did a servey or something like that, not for everyone.

I assume they are losing money cause all the quiznos around us will not accept it.
If it was just mail it back, then there would be no reason not to accept it unless they are lazy.
 
I also never really encountered your problem.

Once we went to Dunkin Donuts for some donuts and the guy game us so many for free cause we desis also.
 
Is this one of those not-allowed-on-at coupons, the ones that get posted and you can print 'em out and use 'em forever and ever. If so, no sympathy. You got your money's worth and today it expired.

If it was a coupon in the paper or mail that was sent to you, then that sucks. Still, I've seen the same thing at Subway and other franchise type rest. Some of them will not accept corp.coupons and if that's the case you learn and don't eat there anymore if you have a coupon.

Most of those 'no corporate coupon' places are run by tightwads who don't know how to manage a food-service business and the food quality suffers at some point so it's not worth eating there anyway.

As soon as I whip it out (the coupon), the manager looks at it and says, "we're not participating in this promotion." Now mind you, I've used the coupon thrice before at this same store, with the manager present no less. "I used it before", I say in my defense. His eyes narrow and I detect a bit of a sneer when he says "well the coupon says at participating stores only. We've decided not to participate. Only corporates [corporate-owned Quizno's] need to accept the coupon". Well this must be late-breaking news, because a coworker of mine had just used his coupon 15 MINUTES BEFORE ME!!!

And herein lies my dilemma. Coworker is white. I am Indian, like the owner. I'm sick and tired of seeing Indians in retail BEND OVER BACKWARDS to accomodate white folk, and then an Indian walks in and all they can do is look at me funny and try to get me out of there as fast as they can. WTF is this...a holdover from British Empire days? Sometimes they'll mumble "so, you're Indian? Where you from?" As soon as they realize I'm not from their particular street/village/rice paddy/caste etc. all social interaction will stop. But I don't wanna get into that. So sure, maybe the owner/manager guy thought this coupon was a complete ripoff, but he was MORE perturbed by the fact that a fellow Indian had the gall to use this coupon on him!! So now I'm done with this Quizno's (less than a minute's drive from work too!)

What really pisses me off is that the only other Quizno's nearby (close to home) is also owned by Indians! :| 🙁 <sigh...>

sorry to bust your bubble but the majority of people from southeast asia have no idea WTF you're talking about. The caste system is dead.
Unless you hindus have your own stuff going on there- im not too sure..

As far as I know, franchises that participate and accept coupons, are reimbursed by Corp. HQ. At least, it used to be that way..
 
they are reimbursed by corp hq. i was talking to the manager at the one over here (which is by the way 100 degrees inside) and i was wondering how it worked. they have to send in the coupon and the receipt (i believe) and it they get reimbursed

Agreed...a few hours later and I don't really care. Meh, was fun while it lasted! Besides, I'm not supposed to be eating out cuz its not healthy for me anyways! 😛

Also, I've typically had good experiences with this particular Quizno's. I remember way back they had some sort of petition to get the old clam chowder back or something...that was pretty cool of them.

Also, looking at the responses I see that I was a bit too harsh on my Indian homies in general. For the most part, Indians my age (esp. the ones born here) don't mind seeing other Indians (I know I don't.) And I don't think the caste thing has any relevance either...I mean how the hell can you tell what caste someone is without even knowing their name? I don't think you can tell just by looking at someone.
