I can't say I know much about what Virginia is doing with their math courses aside from what I just read in that link but it seems a lot more complex than "holding children back to the lowest common denominator." Seems like a foundational redesign of the curriculum that still has some built in functionality for teaching to the level of the learner. I can't really formulate a solid opinion without more detail, but since you obviously can, can you help explain the process more thoroughly?

I don't consider concern for the rights of black people in the country being stripped away by Republicans to be that crazy. Being one myself it's a tad higher on my priority list then VA relaxing it's high school math curriculum.
