LOL.........yeah.
In the Dateline special, the average Quixtar owners make $1400 a year.

I almost got caught in their net. Went to a meeting because a friend dragged me. I listened to the guy's speech, a real smooth talker, then I asked him one question he couldn't answer. I got dirty looks all around and I walked out.

It's an offshoot of amway/networked marketing.

It does work, but you have to be the right person and find the right people.
My uncle has made a LOT of money in this type of business.

quixtar is not a scam. it's only a scam because a lot of people abuse it. in and of itself it is not a scam. it's a franchise/business opportunity. if you put the same kind of money, time and dedication into a quixtar business as you would into any other retail business you can make money with quixtar and neither you or the people you sell to will be scammed.

where quixtar is a scam is when they recruit people telling them they can become millionares just working part time and that residual income will keep you happy and fat forever. that's just BS and anyone stupid enough to believe it deserves to be scammed.

first off, amway/quixtar sells good products. so most consumers that buy amway products will not feel scammed. the actual selling of amway products is not a scam.

the idea of network marketing is not a scam. i sell to you, you sell to your friends, those friends sell to their friends . . . sure, it is limited if you look at it universally (in that at some point the circle will come back to you and you will break it buy not buying). but the commisions are not infinite. you only get money from so many levels down.

look at it another way. instead of network marketing.

proctor and gamble make toothpaste, it goes from manufacturing to wholesaling (amway corporation). from the wholesaler it will usually go thru 2 or 3 different middle men (each person taking their cut) before it gets to the retail establishment (depending on the size of the retail establishment), from their you the consumer buys the product.

the only difference is, amway has more middle men BUT they don't spend money on marketing the way proctor and gamble does.

It was a long time ago, so I don't really remember. But I do remember that it really made me rethink what the heck I was doing there.

I don't remember the whole spiel the guy said, it's 4 or 5 years ago. My question was "where is the leftover money going?" Now that question makes no sense without the context of his speech. But if you'd like to believe that this is BS go ahead and do so. Sheesh.

read my post above. what he made does make sense to an extent. typical manufacturing to wholesale to retail includes lots of money in marketing. that's the money he was referring to.

if you guys examine it closely without emotion, Amway model does make sense.

Just like the Mac VS. Windows thread, this is a repost of a repost of a repost.

But yes, just like any other money-making deal out there, you need to put a lot of time and effort into selling stuff. And if we all had good heads for bussiness, we wouldnt need a happy little club to join. Auto-dealing is more reliable.

Of course, I dont think much of auto-dealers either.

One of my friends got sucked into this garbage, invited me to one of the meetings inside someones house. I was sitting there most of the time listening to some guy brag about his income and only not much about what they do. It's an easy scam to spot if you're fairly intellegent and good with analyzing speech.

Oh I just thought of a great way to get out of hearing the speech:

Recruiter: You should listen to this great opportunity I have for you! It's called quixtar...
You: Oh, dude, I totally know. I've been a member for 2 years now! Hey, check out the rack on that chick!
