Ok my friend is now officially selling for Quixtar. I am telling him that its a scam and he says it isnt. I have searched the internet looking for a reputable news source saying its a scam or a pyramid sheme but i have found none. What does everyone know about it and if u have a link to something that i can send the guy please list it here.

ME: isnt quixtar..amway...just recreated
HIM: i dont sell anything
ME: so you get people under you
HIM: yeah, who get people under them.
ME: That is THE deff of a pyramid scheme

every workplace is a pyramid scheme. You have the owner at the top, managers in the middle and the worker ants at the bottom. The only difference about amway/quixtar is that the consumers are part of the pyramid.

I thought about doing it once, but it is a lot of work if you want to be successful.

scheme implies that it is an illegal way of making money. the best way to describe it, is that it is a multi-level marketing where it sounds good on the paper, but only a few make money. look up excel communications, pretty much the same. once someone is brainwashed into this, it is very hard to convince them otherwise until they waste too much time and money into it. And even them, some people still stick by it like religion..... sad....

Tell him quixtar = amway.

I ran into these bonehead cultists last year. They wouldn't leave me the hell alone.

Tell your friend he is retarded and to get back on the short bus. 100% of all intelligent life forms know quixtar is a scam.

quixtar IS amway just rebranded, its even run by the same people! the only difference is that it is on the internet.

A couple of my friends signed up for it, one of them turned into a quixtar zombie and kept bugging all his friends to sign up for it till nobody could stand to be around him anymore.

anyone have anything else to say about it. Or does anyone have any links i could send this guy to convince him. I havent found anything thats hard proof yet. a lot of sites say they are MLM but that doesnt mean they are really a bad thing in his eyes.

it isn't bad, it just takes a lot of work. he will make money at it if he puts in the time, it may just be more time than he thinks it will take is all.

A friend of mine got into this a few years ago. Wanted to go out for coffee with me, and brought along his recruiter dude. They started talking about it. I didn't buy it.

Me: But I wouldn't ever buy anything from that site...
Dude: That's the beauty of it. You don't have to. Just sign people up for it and you'll make money.
Me: How does anyone ever make money if all they do is sign up their friends but no one has to buy anything?
Dude: Uh...

...

Dude: So your money grows exponentially. Do you know what that means?
Me: Yes I do.
Dude: What does it mean?
Me: Well I could give you an exact definition but... (note: I'm studying astrophysics, so I know some math)
Dude: It means it doubles.
Me: Uh, well not exactly.
Dude: Yes it does.
Me: <rolls eyes>

Its stupid stupid thing and with my luck I always find an a**hole every 2-3 months trying to convince me to join it. Tell him if he starts doing it people will start avoiding him. It happened to a friend of mine as nobody wanted to hear him try to talk people into being a part of it.

Bwahaha, I ran into these losers while in college. Tell you friend to get out while he can.

There is NO business model.

The way the big dogs make the money through Quixtar is by forcing you to buy the monthly tapes that are supposed to make you "a better businessman" or something. If you sell 4 cassette tapes at $7 a piece every month to every Quixtar sucker, that is a whole heckuva lot of money. Oh, and if you choose not to buy the tapes, you WILL BE IGNORED by your upline.

it really isn't a scam, but for average people, you end up putting SO much time into it, you don't really make enough money to justify it in addition to losing some friends.

My friend's dad does quixtar. You gotta work hard to make money. He's been doing it for 3 years and is making about 45k/year from it and get's occasional bonuses. It'll make you money if you're willing to be constantly working for it. It's not for me though.
