Once you are addicted it lasts forever.

Haha, not. 🙂 Only the weak succumb to tobacco and chocolates.

I smoked for 8 years way way back, 2 packs a day. I said enough and quit cold turkey. That was 20 years ago. Not even a toke. It was hard, very hard. Head and stomach and general ugly feeling. But after the 3rd day I was home free. Like I said, only the weak... 🙂

Good luck,

I quit on Feb 10th and I am feeling remendously better. My energy is up and food tatses and smells better.

Its getting a lot easier too.

So I'm quitting smoking. I've only been smoking for 6 months, but I seem to get addicted to things extremely quickly. My friend got me into smoking and I'm WAY more addicted than he is and he's been smoking for like 5 years. So far I've gone 2 days, 4 hours without a cigarette. I have no appetite, I can't eat. I've thrown up several times, I can't even hold down water. I have to sleep with 3 blankets to try and stay warm and my body is sweating like crazy, and I can't fall asleep at night, I just sit on the couch and try to watch TV all night. The worst feeling is my head, i'm so dizzy like I have the flu. Any physical activity and I'll throw up even if I have no food or drink, like if I stand up too fast, or spin around, it's straight to the toilet for me. How much longer is this crap gonna last, and pleeeeease don't say something like a year!

Now been 7 days, 9 hours without a cig! No problems anymore!

nice!!!!

my coworkers call me the vampire smoker because i never go out to smoke with them on smoke breaks, only smoke at night after work.
it's tough to quit though, i usually have one or two a day.

i find sometimes if you just put the cigarette in your mouth without lighting it, like a toothpick, it's all you really need, then your urge for it goes away at least for another few hours. for me, i usually just smoke out of boredom.

i'm on paxil, 40mg daily...but i've been slacking for a while, so probably really only taking like 20-30mg daily. oh, try going a few days without paxil - now that's bad. last summer i ran out of it for like a week, when i was only taking 20mg, and i had bad withdrawal and used to throw up after getting out of a car 🙂

Don't stop taking your Paxil...it will make you extremely dizzy and queezy feeling.

Good job!!

wouldnt know about smoking becuase i never tried it, but i was once addicted to caffeine. when i was working, i had like 3 cups of coffee in the morning and 2-3 pops in the afternoon. i would get headaches if i didn't get a lot. but i had no problem just quitting cold turkey.

unfortunatly pop is the main drink choice here at school. oh well.. i like rotting teeth!
