Quite possibly the most saddest (as in pitiful) thing I've ever seen

Nobody has brought it up yet but, the first paragraph of page 5 of the article hits the nail on the head.

Mike Kelly buys into the doll-as-healthy-transitional-object theory, but also posits that dolls play a needed role in natural selection. "There's definitely people out there who shouldn't be in the gene pool," he says. "This is a way to keep people happy that shouldn't be having kids anyway." He added that some men -- himself excluded because he says he has a real 25-year-old flight attendant girlfriend -- can't attract high-quality women because they lack top-notch genetic material. Men like that, he says, should just build mates and not spread their seed.

Yeah, and

Thousands of men are shelling out $6,500 for hyper-realistic dolls that answer all their needs -- and don't talk back.

Does anybody here believe that sentence.....come on.
hey, it's hilarious - but totally true! i saw a documentary on SexTV about this back when I had US satellite TV. these people get their dolls fully customized!! 😀

they had a bit on Real Sex on HBO about them also, and its not just single men who buy them, a bunch of the peopel that showed on RS were couples, hell one dudes wife purchased one for him for his birthday

Yeah I saw that. I think it was some sort of threesome fantasy compromise deal.

They would show photographs on that show, and the dolls looked pretty much like real women in them. Impressive craftsmanship. When they showed them on video though, their stiff inanimate natural is brutally obvious and their dead eyed stare is pretty damn creepy. I guess if she's face down on the bed its probably not that hard to ignore though.

actually.. this may not be quite as bad as the guy that took candid pictures of some chick at a club and then posted them here. at least this guy understands that he's a loser.

That was posted 8-12 months or so ago, but a different link. Just weird IMHO, and extremely pathetic. I wonder how many ATOT'ers have one???

I only use mine so I can drive in the car pool lane, and to distract burglers.
