Quite possibly the best Mac/PC ad yet!

For those of us that run Vista, you know how annoying the User Account Control (UAC) can be.

I think this ad portrays how I feel to the T.

Yeah I thought it an ad for some Anti_Malware software at first, but then PC explained him self.

I myself keep UAC on. Kinda gotten used to it, but was very annoyed at first.

I guess OSX won't have malware problems until it becomes popular enough to hack.
So the message is " our stuff is 3X overpriced but it's not worth a hacker's time to
go after 8% of the installed base pf pc's"

Sounds a lot like what Zonealarm does... which is why it was installed for all of 5 minutes.

It doesn't ask you again if you check the box, idiot!

Should be smart enough to know the answer. Blackice worked better, showed more information, and didn't ask stupid questions.

I guess they forgot that some group (don't remember who) found a security flaw in Mac OSX every day for an entire month. But nobody exploits them because nobody uses macs.

I wish it would stay that way.

Pretty much.

Security through diversity: it's good enough for nature, so it should be good enough for you too.

You want to use the most "successful" OS? Fine, then you're going to have to put up with all the bits of malicious code floating around out there and the effects they have on your system over time (i.e., no practical separation of privilege -> bad security track record -> annoying attempts to fix the problem).

hilarious, I've liked a few of the Apple commericals, the one where the bill look alike tapes the web cam to his head is also pretty funny. This one takes the cake though

Yup...its classic: security by obfuscation!

ok...that one wasn't so bad. 😀

Although I don't get people getting annoyed with UAC. Once you've set up your computer, you'll hardly ever see it. Hell, just turn it off during initial setup, then turn it back on so your ass is covered. It would be nice if you could set a timer on it though when you know you need to take care of a bunch of administrative tasks.
