Quit my job to go on vacation

quit my job to go up to Big Bear / CA for 2 weeks 🙂
that was my first job 😛
I was in High School... so FUN comes first 😛
 
Yup... taking a vacation now.. not by my choice though.. layoffs suck..

I'm planning on finishing this semester out first though and worry about getting a job right before summer starts... good thing I have money saved or i'd be in a jam right now with my car, mortgage, and utils...

I manage my money wisely for a 20 year old 😉
 
I once quit a job because I had to work on New Year's Eve. We were supposed to get off at 8:00, I walked out about 10:30.
 
I would love to quit my 'job' for a vacation.... The smell of sizzling scalps has me off my feed... & they still keep coming.

I got laid off 2 weeks ago, now I consider myself on sabbatical 😀 I'll tell you, I've never been happier. I was working way below my abilities anyways. I figure I'll take a few months off and then find a killer job.

Yeah did that when I was MUCH younger, got up one morning and went the the airport instead of work and had decided I'd just get on the next plane that was leaving. Luckily it was Tampa rather than Moscow.
 
I did that once, it was a long time ago, but was very worth it.
I landed in Athens with only $50.00 in my pocket, but never ever
regreted it. I ended up spending 5 yrs in Europe wanderring
around like a bum.😉
 
I didn't quit my job to take a vacation, but I took a long vacation once knowing that it would greatly increase my chances of getting laid off on the company wide layoffs that were coming up. I had already put in for a two week vacation, then I found out that the week before I was going to be on vacation, most of the company was going to be shut down for a week. But, my boss needed us in the warehouse to work during the shutdown, I said screw you, I'm taking a three week vacation now!!

I went to Arizona for a week to visit my sister and nephew. Then I came back home for one day, and left for New Zealand for two weeks to visit a friend. The company had layoffs three weeks after I got back from vacation, and I got axed! I loved it, I got three months severance pay!
 
I've done it.

When I was 19, I quit both jobs I was working, moved everything out of my apartment to my parents' place, and went to England for 2 weeks. Then I came back, stayed with my folks for a couple of days, grabbed a suitcase, a sleeping bag, and one box of stuff. I took the bus to a town about 4 hours away, and was blessed to find an apartment the first day and a job the first week.
