In the future, when you're not being paid for invoices sent out, and the amount keeps crawling up, stop working till you get paid. If you keep chugging along while you're still needed, then they aren't going to care. If you wait until you're done with them as a whole, they won't care.

Sounds real douchy, almost even like you purposely are sabotaging their site to get paid... I would have kept it short and simple, I am owed xxx per our agreement, I need to be paid by yyy or I will no longer be able to work with you and pursue legal action.

First of all, everyone here giving criticism is dead on. You need to definitely rethink sending that. Even though you may be entitled to money owed, you obviously haven't learned anything about professionalism. If you are still new to the working world, then I guess this will be a good lesson to learn now.

Second, please change "an PDF" to "a PDF". If you can't even comprehend simple grammar, why should they even bother continue reading after the first sentence? Also change "Hey Guys,". Address them properly, no matter how much you hate them. Those are just 2 minor changes to come after all the major ones everyone else has already said.

quit, send them invoices via certified mail, document all communication in writing, file a suit in small claims court, see if judge judy will take the case.

Way too many extraneous details.

I assume you have a contract in writing detailing your requirements and rate?

Yes I do, I got placed there through my university last year, and worked full time through the summer. In October of last year money stopped coming in, and I got a lot of "the check is in the mail" bs for a long while.

I halted many projects because of that in February of this year, but continued general upkeep because I did not want them to lose business, and since I was workign on obtaining the money due.

Now it is 4 months later, and I am done with the excuse after excuse, $3421 is a lot of money to lose as a student, and the company does VERY well with its online store and E-learning system I set up for them, the money is there, and there is no reason for me not to be paid.

Why did you wait so long to do battle with them over the money?

October to June is...ummmmm...several months...😛

You don't pay me on time and I'll file with the local labor board...within a couple of days...and if it's wages, you'll pay me a day's wages for every day I have to wait.

If this is "contract pay" such as "do x for $XYZ," then the labor board may not be much help. They generally deal with actual "wage and hour" types of violations...but if you SERIOUSLY waited 8 fucking months to get paid for your services...
You may be fucked...be sure you have EVERYTHING in writing, (not just your invoices...their written agreement to pay for the service) then check into small claims court.
