Quietest with best cooling using 120mm's

I was just wondering what you all suggest for a nice case, sub $200, that has sufficient cooling using 120mm and not anything smaller but is also quiet enough.

thanks.
P

Additional details: will put 2 opticals, 4 HD's, 2 pci cards, will be using watercooling, and the usual.

Look at Lian-Li cases... I know the V1100 cases have the cooling, use the 120mm fans, and ARE quiet... It's a nudge over $200 (about $220) but well worth it.

That's a sweet looking case.

If hd's get cool air from front, psu exhausting at back, 120mm exhausting cpu and mobo/gfx,

where does it get cool air for the 120mm exhaust near cpu?

I'll have to check when I open it up over the long (holiday) weekend... I'll be installing one of the XP-120 coolers and fan to see if I can get better temps that way...

hmmm....the v1100 doesn't have a reset button.

Hold down the power button for ~5 seconds and it powers off... That's the same with all cases. If your system is stable (or rather the software on it) you shouldn't need the reset button. I have had software run that's made a hard reboot necessary... Typically simply rebooting takes care of the issue... One of these days, I'll go through the rest of the apps and clean them up some more... Or, in a few more months, just wipe it and start fresh... again.

THere is no need for a reset button really. Usually its so small that its easier to hold down the power button for 5 seconds. Or you can set in bios to be instant off.

My Antec Super LAN Boy has 120mm front and rear fans and is really quiet, plus cost under $100 shipped.

What I like to do is get pretty powerful 120mm fans and then drop them down to 7v. Even LED fans will keep their glow at 7v.

Antec has new 120mm led fans that have L,M,H resister and the LEDs are on a separate wiring from the motor so they dont dim with the fan speed iirc

The TT 120mm LED fans I've dropped to 7v don't dim very much. Heck, even some cheap 80mm fans I've 7volted don't dim much either.
"Antec" + "New" = 1 thing... $$

Does it have room for at least 2 opticals and 4 HDs?

EDIT: It sure does from looking a picture on the web.

The fans in my V1100 are so quiet that you can barely hear them with the case buttoned up. With cool and quiet active on my mobo (controlling the processor fan), you can barely hear that over the case fans.

Also, the V1100 has room for 4 optical drives, a floppy, and 6 hard drives. Actually, the loudest thing out of my case is the hard drives being accessed (probably the Seagate drives)...

If you have the cabbage, I highly recommend the V1100 cases for someone looking for a case that WILL be quiet, keep your rig cool, and you can keep for many years. The pre-installed sound dampening material (from the factory) is a nice touch too...
