QUIET heatsinks

I was going to get a zalman CNPS6000 flower cooler, and run it with a 92mm panaflo fan.

BUT

Just seen the thermalright AX7 which would take one of my 80mm panalo fans nicely.

Which would cool better at similar noise levels (I can tweak fan speeds etc)?

Oh yeah, I only need enough to cool a 1.3 TBird.

Ok, well I took out my extra heatsink. I let it sit on the desk for a while. It's been out for 3 minutes or so now and it hasn't made a peep. I'd say it is pretty quiet. I mean he only makes a noise when I move him around on the desk. So as long as you're not doing any moving of it on your core, you should be fine with the Thermalright SK-6!

What is the quietest heatsink/fan combination that will let me run a 1.3gig Athlon at, ooh, under 60° on full load.

If your motherboard supports it, it'd really buy an PAL8045, and couple it with a Panaflow LA-1 or other ~30DB 80MM fans.. you can find fans that are virtually silent if you want to, it all depends on how toasty that T-bird gets before it gets unstable.. THAT THING IS A MONSTER! It's like, the size of a 1/500th scale sears tower. Long live Alpha! Oh, it's like, 40$ without the fan.. so just pick up a quiet panaflow or something..

I second the Alpha. Only I use an enermax adjustable so i can set it to whatever I want. Very cool, very quiet!
