I've currently got an AGP 9800 Pro inside my Shuttle XPC, and the damn thing is just too loud...I don't absolutely need to play the latest and greatest FPS, so I'll sacrifice performance for quietness.....so what could I replace the 9800 with?

If you don't need the PCI slot free, you can put a Zalman fanless heatpipe cooler on the 9800Pro (or buy the Sapphire "Ultimate" 9800Pro)... the VGA Silencer is also a lot quieter than the standard HSF.

The fastest single-slot fanless AGP card I know of is the RADEON 9600. The 9600Pro and up have fans.

Yes, the 9600 would be the fastest one besides the sapphire ultimate line.

I personally got:
Sapphire 9600($103 shipped, at time of writing)

Though, that's OOS, and you might want to consider:

Rosewill 9600($72 shipped, at time of writing)
http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=14-164-022&depa=0

Both should be withing a few percentage points of each other performance wise, the only reason I got the spphire was because I like to buy from brands I know about, and for me, it was worth the $30.

Another good thread on this is over at SPCR:

BTW, the SPRC forums have many good threads on quieting down your system...

Cool, I'll go with that option..should I buy the regular, or dual heatpipe cooler? Will they both fit in my XPC? It's an SN95G5 and I don't think there is much room between one side of the card, and the side of the case.

Regular

Dual

Thanks for the links yelo.

make sure that will fit, in my xpc the agp was to the outside and that might be a tight squeeze. there wasn't much room past the stock hsf.
