I have the stock HSF now and it isn't really cutting it, temps around 55C. I want something that cools well but doesn't have a fan that's vacuum-cleaner-loud (i.e. no Delta 6000 RPM fans). What's good, other than water cooling?

Zalman CNPS 7000A Cu/AlCu.

You could also buy a Thermalright SLK-948U with a 92mm Panaflo fan or that A64 Alpha (forget the model number) and do the same, but you would have to spend more money for a few less degrees ;)

I have a Thermaltake Silent Boost K8

Very quiet. I have a 3200+. CPU temp right now is 32C idle, Cool and Quiet enabled. It'll hover around 40C under load. I'm also using arctic silver 5.

The only time the fan sped up enough for me to even hear it was when I overclocked to 3400+ level and the temp reached 45C.

Having used both SilentBoosts (the one with Hyrowave and the ones without) and the CNPS-7000A, I definately like the CNPS-7000A as it provides lower temps are quieter speeds. SilentBoost isn't bad though.
