Hey people... I'm sorry if this is a repost..but after searching I didn't find anything.

I've been eyeing the Cendyne CC dealio for $29 AR's and also the Newegg.com offerings, especially the Pioneer Refurb w/ tray

I was just wonderin' if any of these drives would be "loud." I don't want the drive ruining the movie for her...and I certainly don't want it to be a nuisance! Any one have any experience w/ these?

TIA and God Bless! 😀

yup..have to agree that pioneers are loud. my room mate has one, sounds like a jet engine. toshibas, on the other hand, are pretty quiet. i also have a liteon, and its not too noisy either, less than the pioneer, but not quite as quiet as the toshiba.

yall are right... DANG I'm SUCH a moron this weekend! I can't WAIT for monday (sick isn't it?) but I've just been completely ignorant this weekend! BLEH!

Thanks though! I think I'll take the advice from drewdogg808 and check out the LiteOn or the Toshiba 😉

I was ready to buy a pioneer before I saw this post.

I want a quiet drive for my computer that I can flash with regionfree firmware.

I also notice newegg is selling ASUS DVD-ROM drives. Wonder if they are as good as their MBs?

Video is the wrong forum? I want to use my DVD to watch videos so sounds right to me.

JK!

Mmm... trikster2 try General Hardware forum eh? We are too googly eyed over such wonders as GeForce 4 and the ATI Radeon 8500XT!!!
