well i was thinking of getting a Abit NF7, AMD Barton 2500+..
i want a quiet cpu... that does not over heat...
i was plannign to use the "THERMALRIGHT ALX800" Heatsink
i am not sure what fan i am going to use.. i want a quiet fan for the heatsink...
but i was wondering if i clocked my 2500+ barton to 3200+ what would the temperature be?
if this heatsink can keep it at a decent temperature.. with a fan speed around 1500RPM ? please help
as i am quiet loss in deciding what to buy..

Don't get the ALX-800 for quiet. SLK-800 (if you can find one) or better, yes, but not ALX-800. It can't take slow fans very well.
For a fan...a Panaflo L or slower Aerocool one (get a fan controller) should do the job.
SLK-947U, if it can fit, would be great (uses mounting holes).

The temp depends on a lot of things, not the least of which being wether or not you overvolt the hell out of it :).
Good case air flow + good HS = good cooling. If your case is successfully exhausting hot air, you could easily keep under 50C load (and maybe <45C, but I'm sure I can stand by the 50C number no matter what case you have) with an undervolted fan.

the thing is THERMALRIGHT ALX800 cost half then the SLK800...
and i heard people saying ALX800 is just as good as the SLK800..
i dont have all that money to invest... i was gonna spend around 35 for a HSF max...
is a THERMALRIGHT ALX800 better than the heatsink a volcano11 XASER edition have?

For quiet, the ALX-800 isn't as good. The AX-7 was (and is, even if it's sitting aroundmissing a screw right now :)), but the ALX-800 doesn't have the room.

However, check and see if this will fit in your case:

Just at your budget, will cool great. I hadn't realized it had come down to that price :)

the Thermaltake SilentBoost rocks! :D

temps: [for a 2100+ o/c to 2400+ with 12x166]:
stock hsf: 51C idle 56C load
FRII hsf: 46-48 idle; 55 load
TTSB hsf: 34-36 idle 42C load!!!

all temps after 10 passes of the sandra burn-in wizard

sound-wise it isnt quite as silent as the FRII [it is more "whooshy" but certainly tolerable and i can now use the quiet but powerful fan from my FRII as a case outflow and use the panaflo as a front inflow
the FR2 was near dammit silent to my ears.
