I've been away from the whole cooling scene for awhile, but lately, the noise from my box has been really annoying.

what do you think the optimal solution is to getting as quiet a rig as possible? I used to have a Sonata and loved it, but I ran out of room inside it pretty quickly and gave it away.

my spec's:

AMD64 939 3200
Geforce 6800 GT
2 10K hard drives
4 misc pci cards (nic, sound card, tv tuners, etc... just stuff that takes up room + adds heat)

all fans, including the heatsink fan, were the lowest possible dba's I could find at the time that I bought them (~6 months - 1 year ago)

The Antec P180 is a good choice. I would check out SilentPCReview for some case reviews.

thanks :) I checked out SPCR and decided to go with a P180, fanless cpu heatsink (ninja), and a psu with 1 120mm fan. hopefully it quiets down my computer room and I can start hearing my games without headphones :D

yeah the p180 is a great quiet case. However, are you going to use the Ninja fanless? Just to be safe i would put a super quiet fan on it as well.
