I want to buy a MSI NX6800GT graphics card. I want to buy also a case (with PSU included) which can supply my graphics card and to have low noise(under 20dB). Any suggestions? Thank you.

Get Aspire X-Navigator or X-Superalien case. They come with a pretty good power supply and are much cheaper than Thermaltake cases wich do not come with power supply. But Thermaltake cases (especially Armor and Kandalf) are niiiiiiice.

Asus Vento is also a good alternative (no power supply tho)

check around.

the case will have little to no affect on noise levels... steel will be a better noise insulator than aluminum. but its mostly going to depend on what fans you put in it... yate loon, nexus, and panaflo are great choices for quality, quiet fans... about the only case you would want to buy with a PSU included is an antec.. 99% of PSUs that come with cases are crap... i would highly recommend getting a case and PSU seperately unless you get an antec case/psu combo.

also, since you want to keep your computer quiet, you should consider taking a dremel to the pre-cut case fan grills, as they can create a lot of extra noise.

edit: i just saw aj58's post and i would not recommend the aspire PSUs.. i have read too many complaints about them to recommend to anyone.. find yourself any cheap, steel case that has features you want and is visually appealing to you, and get one of the many recommended PSUs.

Since you want such low noise levels, you need to get a steel case with implements for quiet components (120mm case fan mounts, rubber washer mounts for drives, etc.). Look for an Antec SLK-3000B-- It has those things.

Then you want to put in a QUIET power supply, and Silent PC Review recommends the Seasonic line of PSUs as the lowest-noise measured. You want a Seasonic S12-500 if your 6800GT card uses a 6-pin PCIe power plug.

You also need to quiet your video card by getting rid of the stock cooler and get a quieter one (Zalman VF700 or Arctic Silencer), a quiet CPU fansink (Zalman CNPS7000 or 7700), a quiet northbridge cooling solution, quiet case fans (aforementioned Nexus, Yate Loons, Panaflos, etc).

HTH.

lol, sorry i forgot all about these things.. but wisdomtooth has some good advice there :)

as for CPU heatsink, xp-90 or xp-120 with the already mentioned fans will be very quiet as well.. and i'd opt for passive cooling for the NB..

I'll 2nd that, I wouldn't get the 500 S12 just for the PCI-E connector though. You're card will come with adapters to use regular molex connectors, so a I'd go with a 350 watt S12.

With the same goals in mind, I picked up an Antec TX 1088 today. It is one of Antec's new line of cases, complete with the new design TruePower 2.0 480 watt power supply, which has the latest connectors and two 12 volt rails. It is quiet, too. $139 for a top quality case and power supply seemed pretty fair to me.

Antec SLK3000-B with XClio 450 PSU. Add a fan controller and high quality fans and you're in bidness.

I must agree. I have the Antec Sonata with a 380 Watt PS and it is whisper silent. I am also using a Zalman Fan for the CPU. Great combo IMHO.

I agree with this case. I also got it for my first build it was easy and it is quiet. Newegg had it listed with a 450psu but it is 480 2.0 $20 less than Monarch. The best thing is my wife likes it.
