I heard that a free plugin has been released that allows quicktime files to be played in WMP without any issues.

Anyone know where I can get this WMP add on?

If I use the quicktime alternative to play mov files, does it launch in its own media player, or it just playes right in Windows Media Player?

If you do not install MPC and set WMP the default player, it will play thru WMP.
 
QuickTime Alternative installs and registers the codec libraries that any player can use to play the QuickTime video format.
