Ok, Windows Media Player is working on some files, but not all.

It wont stream any video either.

I can look at movie trailers in quicktime, but all the quicktime ads or streaming video will not work.

It shows the quicktime logo with a question mark.

wtf?

I get a quicktime error on some files, but I can still open it from the start menu?

All the quicktime applications have the quicktime logo with a question mark.

It does the same thig on Mozilla and IE.

you seem to have a BIG screw-up.

i recommend uninstalling REAL and uninstalling QT.

Then use a program like JV16 powertools or regcleaner etc. and totally clean out your registry of all entries having anything to do with "real player", "real media" etc....same for Apple quicktime.

Then install real alternative and quicktime alternative.

I deleted Real Play several days ago, no programs have been running on it.

But Streaming Windows Media will not work and all the Quicktime files have a logo with a question mark over it, funny thing is..I can open both programs in the start menu..

wtf??

I tried deleting both applications, but it did not help.

Should I try again using another program?

Is Realplayer still influencing my computer?

Its really been a pain because I have been restricted from listening to music for nearly 3 weeks and...eh...you can tell lol.

Look, noob, we're not telling you to reformat it because we want you to lose all your data and have to start over. Your software seems to be so messed up beyond simple repair (uninstall, reinstall) that it seems reformatting is the only fix, especially since we don't know all the details (router? firewall? blocked by ISP? virus? spyware? trojan? user error? corrupt files?)

Is there away where I can exclude certain programs to not erase when reformatting..

(Mozilla, Unreal Tournament 2004, Battlefield 1942, AIM)

Mozilla and AIM are smal downloads so that shouldn't be a problem.. you can reinstall UT2004 & BF1942 from the CDs/DVD, so I don't see the problem there, either.
But no, you can't exclude certain programs to exclude when reformatting. Formatting means everything is erased.

the thing is, I lost my Battlefield 1942 CD's and I run it by this patch I use which does not require me to use the CD while playing the game, is there away I can burn the game into a CD??

Or save it on the computer somewhere??

I dont have the box or anything..

Reformatting doesn't delete the XP accounts does it??

Everything on your partition will be gone. Includes system files, settings, program files, application data.

As for burning BF1942 to CD, not sure how well that would work. You'd need to grab the program data, any user data, and be able to reproduce the registry keys.
