Quicktime is the best!

<< Darwin and the streaming thing are both open source. >>

So does Darwin encode the content then? I remember hearing about the problems with getting quicktime on linux because of a closed-source codec.

except that quicktime is a pain in the ass to get working on linux, plus the fact that all QT movies made with the sorensen codec (most that are available over the web, most newer ones, and certainly most if not all on apple's site) don't work at all on linux.

ohh man you are gonna die when you see .NET Server serving up Corona Media. Soo you shall see the light, virtually no buffering time at all with extremely high quality.

n0cmonkey im disappointed in you, first linux, now Apple products?

I am sure there are quicktime encoders available for Darwin.

BingBongWongFooey, I have the same complaint, but thankfully I have my Mac to keep me occupied 😉

I cant wait to see it. Hopefully they can make a client capable of watching it for platforms other than wintel so I can see it 😉

I like quality. 😉

I bought an iBook just to play with Mac OS X. Ive never done that for a Microsoft product.

<< What is the $29.95 Quicktime Pro then? >>

Quicktime is free, if you want to upgrade to quicktime pro it will cost you (I bought it). Quicktime is what you will need to watch the streaming media.
